Replacement switch heating panels
For public transportation company RET in Rotterdam, eReM has replaced a great part of the track switch heating panels. Climate issues led to problems in the past. eReM was asked to come up with a solution and this resulted in an improved design, justified by several heat calculations. The outdated system was disassembled and divised in two different panels. If possible, the components were re-used. The project was phased out and completed in a very short time, in order to be ready for the upcoming Winter. We have processed the up-to-date drawings of the design in the engineering tool EPLAN. These drawings serve as a standard for future panels. The result is a better ventilated system and less track switch failures at various subway tracks in Rotterdam!
